Muxima is a beautiful forest eco-retreat that is inspired by the spirit of the African continent – Muxima is Kimbundu, an Angolan dialect, for ‘heart’. The resort is situated on a 28-hectare strand of cork and eucalyptus forest. There are a number of separate houses built in the traditional way but decorated inside with the vibrant shapes and colours of Africa. Owners Paula and Jelle share their great love for wild nature and good food with their guests. They want to keep everything as pure as possible and keep a strong connection with their surroundings. The houses are beautifully decorated with items collected from many travels and each room has its own, unique style. In the shared living room one can enjoy a book from the library by the fireplace with one of the Portuguese, organic natural wines from a carefully selected wine list.
