Today I’m loving … this ‘white with a bit of color’ workspace!

Today we take a virtual trip to Portugal where we will take a peek into this stunning country home in Palmela, which is not far from Lisbon. This is the refuge of interior designer Monica Penaguião. The building itself is simple and rustic, it’s the mix of modern furniture that gives color to the various rooms.
The lounge area (top image) is stunning. Thick mattresses and cushions made from Turkish fabrics are great for an afternoon nap. The kilim rug is an antique. The stools and chairs are from Tolix. The handmade pergola gives shade to the pool area (image above). Missoni towels brighten up the sun beds that were purchased on a trip to India.
The beautiful table ware is from Kenzo. The chairs around the dining table are the Wishbone chairs from Hans Wegner.
The stone sink in the kitchen is mounted on an iron frame. An old wood oven is used for baking and gives warmth in winter.
The green lamp in the dining room is designed by Marcel Wanders for Capellini. The rotan stools were purchased in the region of Alentejo.

The colorful painting by Brazilian artist Isabelle Tuchband gives perfect contrast against the white wall. The chair made from scrap wood is from Piet Hein Eek.
A perfect place for al fresco eating! The dishes are from Bordallo Pinheiro, the glasses from Kenzo and the chairs are made from recycled wood by Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek.
Doesn’t the pool look very inviting?! The whitewashed walls and old wooden doors (image below) maintain the authentic charm of the building.

Today another stunning home on Panarea, an small volcanic island near Sicily, Italy. Also this home has a rustic yet stylish decor and a stunning sea view. I regularly receive email from readers asking whether the homes that I feature are for rent. Unfortunately I don’t have any information on this. If you are looking for a holiday rental on Panarea it is best to google and search on sites like this one and this one.

Today’s post is about yellow. A color that I associate with spring time and Easter. More yellow posts will follow later this week. I hope you enjoy them!

Today post shows another gorgeous home located on Formentera, Spain. I featured this house last year and it still is one of favorites. I love ever part of this home, especially the very inviting outdoor areas.
Wooden kitchen cabinets and white walls: such a beautiful combination.
That huge fire place, those beams … everything is just gorgeous!
The use of natural materials and the choice of furniture and accessories suits this house perfectly.
The bedroom (below) is simple but stylish.

This beautiful house is the home of Daniela Cavestany and Spanish photographer Jordi Canosa. It is no wonder that Daniela is a stylist as her home on the Spanish island Formentera is stunningly decorated. It is this style that I love: rustic but stylish, use of natural materials, a cosy bohemian chic vibe, neutral tones with purple and lavender accents. To me this is the perfect summer home! The house is for rent during the summer months. You can contact Daniela at Daniela@bydaniela.com for more information and rates. Please bare in mind that this is a luxurious home and that rental prices for these kind of houses on Formentera are high (between €400 – 1000 per day).

Shop in this style:
1. Boheme pillow in square and retangular, 2. Egyptian copper pendant, 3. handmade ceramic mug, 4. leather butterfly chair, 5. handmade ceramic bowl, 6. silk cushion with sequin star, 7. hyacinth storage basket, 8. hand blown glasses made from recycled glass, 9. bread board made from teak wood, 10. lavender colored quilt / bedspread.

Today another summer house that I love. The simple yet stylish decor, the beautiful view … it is all gorgeous! The house is located on Panarea, Italy. Panarea is the second smallest of the eight Aeolian Islands, a volcanic island chain north of Sicily.

There are currently about 280 residents living on the island year-round; however the population increases dramatically in summer with the influx of tourists. In recent years, the island has become known internationally for its celebrity visitors.

As spring has arrived and summer is on the way I will be featuring some gorgeous summer houses again. I start with some of my favorite summer homes that I have featured in the past years. Today I take you to this beautiful house on the island of Ponza Italy.
Ponza is the largest of the Italian Pontine Islands archipelago, located 33 km south of Cape Circeo in the Tyrrhenian Sea. The island is located about halfway between Naples and Rome. It’s a volcanic island with some nice beaches as well as spectacular cliffs. You can read more about Ponza in this article that was published in The Independent.
I love the white plastered walls of this cave house. Although the ceilings are low, the house is still light and airy.

I don’t very often post pictures of my own home. The reason for this that it is hard to find the right time to take photos. The light has to be good (we lack natural light in winter time) and with a 1.5 year old little boy who is very energetic (a nice way of saying that he makes a lot of mess..) the house never seems to be tidy enough to be photographed. But today (finally) a picture of our bedroom. The lavender bedspread is new and it is inspired me to make this photo. The copper star pendant is from Le Souk, as well is the bedspread and the rustic wooden tables next to the bed.

Remember this kitchen with a blue stove that I featured in January? I came across some more pictures of this lovely cottage in the UK designed by Dave Coote. I thought you might be interested in seeing them!
