Featured today on The Travel Files is Dar Kawa, a five-star accommodation in the heart of the Marrakech medina. Designed with a blend of traditional Morocco and contemporary international style. Simple yet not sparing, the rooms are comfortable, large and immaculate.

Today another summer home on Ibiza, Spain! This home is more classic than the other houses I have featured but still has a rustic atmosphere that I love. I hope you enjoy looking into these kind of holiday homes as I have a lot more to be featured here on the style files in the coming weeks!

I posted these beautiful images from photographer Brie Williams last year but as they suit my summer mood I want to show them to you again. In case you have not seen them or have forgotten about it.. The pics are gorgeous, aren’t they?

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! I hope you are enjoying summer.
And we will continue the series of posts about Moroccan tiles. The tiles featured here are from Fired Earth. This British company specialises in an array of interiors products including floor and wall tiles, paint, wallpaper, bathrooms, kitchen furniture, handwoven rugs and wood flooring. Their focus is on sourcing the highest quality products from around the world. And their eclectic collections are often inspired by their travels, for example you can see Moroccan influences in their Marrakech tile range (images above and below).
Each of these tiles is hand-made and hand-antiqued; a layer of stain is applied to the surface and the edges distressed to give an aged appearance.
More information can be found on Fired Earth’s website.
XO-in my room is a new Spanish (thanks Agata!) furniture label for kids. It is a venture of three brothers who have combined their passion for well designed furniture, their love for high quality materials and their craftsmanship and started designing and making beautiful children’s furniture. Between the three of them they have 10 children so you can say that they are experts on the subject!
You can visit their store here and see all items available. Everything here is handmade with love and care!
I received some questions about this colorful rug. The Kiara rug is from Anthropologie and it is available in various sizes. I especially love the color combination.
Anthropologie has some more beautiful rugs in there collection: the Peruvian inspired Huari rug with lovely tassels, the Minar rug with mosaic shapes, the green and turquoise Stavanger rug and the Aymara rug in stunning desert hues with pink and chartreuse pops.
Today’s summer home is not on Formentera for a change! This white & blue house is located on Antiparos, one of the Greek island belonging to the Cyclades, a group of island in the Aegean archipelago. Katerina Vordoni designed this house which is built in the shape of “W”. The spaces are not large and the decor is simple but the house is cozy and what else do you need on a beautiful island.

The new ferm LIVING catalog is out and it is packed with lovely products and beautiful photos. Here are some of my favourites but you can see the entire Autumn / Winter 2012 catalog here.
Let’s talk about fashion today! I’m loving this summer fashion shoot by Vogue. The article features what Bookings Editor Valerie Boster wore on vacation in Montauk this summer in a special edition of Five Days, Five Looks, One Girl.
