vase collection for sale on ebay

vases1.jpg
Not so long ago trend watcher Li Edelkoort predicted that people will create their own ‘museum houses’. We will more and more start living among all kind of collections. This way we can show our identity and our uniqueness. Our collections, of for instance vintage glass and ceramics, can make our house and ourselves stand out of the crowd. In stead of mass production, we want unique and handmade objects!

I especially love vase & pottery collections. Unfortunately I haven’t got enough space to display my large vase collection and therefore I am saying farewell to part of my collection. In the top image above you can see most of the vintage vases that I am selling on Ebay. Click here to see all items that I have for sale on Ebay.

ikea catalogue from 1965

ikea1.jpg
The new IKEA catalogue is out! The catalogue is published in 55 different editions, in 27 languages for 35 countries. It has surpassed the Bible as the most published work, estimated 175 million copies (2006) worldwide. The first catalogue was published in 1951. The images above and below images are from the 1965 catalogue. Funny that this 44 year old catalogue still has a familiar look!

house with vintage furniture

I still haven’t got internet access at home. Hopefully this will be fixed on Friday. This means that I can not upload images for new posts. Luckily I have saved some interior images which I can share with you now.

This beautiful home is heaven for vintage lovers as it is full of vintage furniture and accessories.

Most furniture is vintage Scandinavian design, the yellow chairs for example are from Arne Jacobsen (the ant chair).

vintage wallpaper

I have earlier posted about vintage wallpaper. You can find these posts here and here. Another great source for vintage wallpaper, if you are living in The Netherlands, is De Bonte Kamer. They also have a great vintage furniture collection.

design from brazil at espasso

Every day I receive tons of email from companies, designers and PR firms promoting their products and asking for a mention on the style files. 95% of these emails are about products that have nothing to do with the topics I normally write about. I can not understand that these PR firms think that I would write about air conditioning systems or even the latest bra technology.. But yesterday I received an email from Espasso. And I am happy to write about this showroom as they have a gorgeous collection of contemporary and vintage furniture!

Espasso, located in New York and Los Angeles, is dedicated to modern and contemporary design from Brazil. They are excelling in the market for Brazilian furniture designers, ranging from mid-century masters such as Oscar Niemeyer, Sergio Rodrigues and Joaquim Tenreiro to today’s names like Isay Weinfeld, Carlos Motta and Arthur Casas.

Espasso: ‘The unique appeal of Brazilian furniture design results from blending of Brazil’s diverse cultural influences and a respect for traditional style. Its sophistication derives from the country’s rich artistic and intellectual heritage, which is reflected in each piece selected for our collection’. It is worth checking out Espasso’s website which offers a very complete, up-to-date range of their beautiful furniture pieces/
