This contemporary furniture and modern design showroom and store in midtown Manhattan showcases classic, iconic furnishings from top European and American manufacturers. They carry a gorgeous collection! My favourite is the Hive (image above), a shelving unit of bent aluminum covered in oak or American walnut (also available in black stained finishes).

Deisgn your own shelving system with MShelving, an almost endlessly customizable storage system. Available in several heights and configurations, it allows you to create your own look from a wide range of interchangeable colored steel and wood veneer sliding doors. MShelving was designed by Mathias Frei from Zürich, and is produced in Switzerland and Italy. It combines a sturdy, slightly industrial-feeling steel shelving system base with a refined, simple and attractive sliding door system. The result is a shelving unit that holds just about anything (each shelf can hold up to 220 pounds) but looks like stylish furniture in your home or office. Muunto from Finland designs storage systems that are both functional as well as attractive. The system is based on an innovative wall panelling technique that is completed with a range of shelf units and accessories. The system can easily be readjusted to suit your changing need or your new home décor.
The shelf units, cabinets, and other accessories are hung up on the slat wall by attaching them into aluminium groove inserts that serves as the supporting structure of the system. The accessories are freely movable horizontally, which allow them to be repositioned easily. There are three collections of accessories; the ones on the images are from the Clean Cut collection. String is a shelving system from Sweden. This practical system, designed by Nils Strinning, is lightweight, yet stable. The side panels are simple to mount and the shelves are easy to move around. You can combine shelves of different depths in the same unit and the frame functions as a book-end. When you need more shelf space, you can simply add more units. It is the framing that gives String its discreet but distinctive character: a refined ladder climbing up the wall.
