I have more with bags than with shoes and I sure love these bags from Etsy shop Rebyc. The clutch made from distressed leather (top image) and the Agatha fold over shoulder bag are on my wishlist!

polaroid is coming back!

polaroid
Good news: Polaroid is not completely gone! Urban Outfitters has partnered with The Impossible Project to support their mission to restart and reinvent instant film photography. When Polaroid ended production of Instant Film in 2008, The Impossible Project bought all the machinery and equipment at Polaroid’s Dutch factory where the instant films were made. They aim to re-start production of analog instant film for vintage Polaroid cameras in 2010.

polaroid
This year, Urban Outfitters will present a limited edition of 700 hand-numbered deadstock Polaroid camera kits. This edition will include one pack of deadstock Polaroid Instant Film and one of the most sought after analog instant cameras: the Polaroid One600 classic, the last Polaroid camera ever produced. Urban Outfitters will also offer additional deadstock original Polaroid Type 779 Instant Film saved from the last production runs made at the last Polaroid factory in Enschede, The Netherlands. (Film will retail at $24 per pack and camera kits at $180 each.)

phatsheep textiles

I received a very nice email from Susanne telling me about the launch of Phatsheep textiles’ website. Suzanne is a printed textile designer. Working from her studio at her home in rural Shetland (an island off the north coast of Scotland) she designs the characteristic bold graphic prints PhatSheep is now famous for. Her designs are printed onto cottons and linens and sewn into an ever increasing range of accessories both for the individual and for the home. There is a strong link to Suzanne’s Shetland heritage and surrounding environment throughout her designs, croft houses, Fair Isle jumpers and seabirds all feature in her unique textiles. For instance, the print ‘seabirds’ is featuring some funny little guys familiar to the Shetland coastline (curlews, seagulls and oyster catchers).

A nice details to know is that Suzanne’s husband Mark is a photographer. He is responsible for all the beautiful photos on the Phatsheep website. The photo shoot for the products was shot in their house here in Shetland, which is an architect designed modern croft house (a Scottish farming cottage). Visit Phatsheep’s website for more information and to see their entire collection.
