a stunning summer home in portugal

portugalhome1.jpg

I have a lot of eye-candy for you today! There are still so many beautiful summer homes that I want to show you and I almost forgot about this gorgeous house in Portugal. The owner of this dream house, designer Pequenina Rodrigues, fell in love with the natural beauty of the surroundings and built a house that is strongly connected to nature. The result is a stunning home with lots of wood, roofs made from straw, white washed walls with lovely blue accents.

casa can mares on ibiza

Casa-Can-Mares1.jpg

Today another summer home on Ibiza, Spain! This home is more classic than the other houses I have featured but still has a rustic atmosphere that I love. I hope you enjoy looking into these kind of holiday homes as I have a lot more to be featured here on the style files in the coming weeks!

more interior eye candy from formentera

Stanga-Formentera1.jpg

And another beautiful summer home on Formentera! It seems that every house on this small house is stunning. How great would it be to have a holiday home here. I have been to this Spanish island and it is a beautiful as it looks on all the images that I have been featuring. Turquoise sea, stunning beaches, sunny weather: everything is there for a perfect holiday. Unfortunately property prices are sky high..

a rustic summer house in greece

rusticsummer1.jpg

Today another summer house, this one is located on a Greek Island. The architecture of this lovely home is typically Greek: white washed walls with blue windows and doors. The decor and interior is simple but offers everything one might need for a having a wonderful and relaxed summer time.

an exotic home in melbourne, australia

ozmar4.jpg

You might think that this home is located in Morocco but it isn’t. This exotic style house is the Melbourne (Australia) home of Giovanni Mangano and Tory Flanigan.

ozmar1.jpg

On the walls Giovanni has used a mix of white paints to create a lime-washed effect. “With a neutral backdrop, you can try different things together and it still works,” he says.

ozmar6.jpg

In the dining area, the arch may look like a doorway, but it is actually a cleverly placed mirror.

ozmar9.jpg

The elaborate portal from Rajasthan is hundreds of years old, yet it works beautifully with the PP Møbler ‘Flag Halyard’ chair from Cult, the ‘Meditation’ wooden chair from Vixen & Velvet and the Space sofa and rug.

ozmar8.jpg

The master bedroom is rich with family history, thanks to the sacred heart of Jesus artwork and heirloom quilt from Giovanni’s grandmother.

ozmar2.jpg

Adobe-inspired walls, ornate carving and timber beams from an old Sydney woolshed set the scene for this home.

The Lumeah limestone courtyard floor adds an extra layer of texture outdoors.

A June edition of Rue Magazine is out and it is packed with beautiful photos. I especially like these desert colors images shot by photographer Jose Villa at the Oasis World Estate.
