This display of ceramic objects makes a nice addition to today’s post about Japanese ceramics and houseware!

kitchen inspiration

keukenred3.jpg

Today’s post is about kitchens! I am showing you my favorite style of kitchens: modern country kitchens.

keukenred1.jpg

Even a very basic kitchen like the one in the image above can be cosy.

I love this wooden kitchen. We originally wanted to have a wooden kitchen in our home but as we already had a wooden floor we thought that it would be too much.

a summer house in the heart of paris

paola4.jpg

Designer Paola Navone (one of my favorite designers!) has transformed a loft into a summer house in the heart of Paris, France. The designer has played with light and contrast in this large space. The stainless steel kitchen cabinets and appliances make a beautiful contrast with the whitewashed stone walls. A white canvas curtain separates the kitchen from the dining area.

The rectangular table was made from planks that were painted gray and then drilled and stitched together with red string. Chinese chairs are painted in a beautiful shade of green.

paola5.jpg

Paola designed the huge white couch “Marocco” (top image) for Casa Milano. The white curtains in the bedroom (image below) hide a dressing room. I am loving the tiles in the bathroom and bedroom: such a gorgeous shade of blue!
