Retro cool meets ethnic chic in this beautiful villa on Ibiza. Can Tiki has been completely refurbished and redesigned by London-based designers Godrich Interiors.

In the villa you can find a daybed and cushions from Violet & George, Tropicalia chairs by Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola for Moroso and Pumpkin Chairs from Chaplins. The beautiful Egyptian pendant lights are available from Le Souk.

“Creativity, a passion for simplicity, and dedication to the reclamation and re-use of materials, combined with unusual and individual treatments and processes, make ordinary objects extraordinary” is the motto of furniture maker and interior designer Katrin Arens, the owner of this gorgeous house in the Lombardy region, in Italy.

Katrin has made the furniture in her house herself. And good news, her beautiful furniture pieces are also for sale. Each piece is unique and handmade, using materials reclaimed; from derelict country houses, from cellars, and from carpentry studios.

Katrin: “The pieces themselves are as rich in history as they are clear in design – histories which are concealed beneath surfaces with strange shapes, patterns and scars. Thorough craftsmanship and treatments using traditional techniques give the pieces both a smooth finish and an enigmatic feel, exuding long-forgotten colours and scents”. I am in love with that kitchen!

Another gorgeous summer home on Formentera! I l love the rustic style of the interior and exterior of the house. This kitchen proves that you don’t need to have a lot of luxury items to have a beautiful kitchen. It is simply gorgeous! I am also loving the outdoor areas.

Today we make another trip to Italy! This stunning house is located on the island of Ponza, in the Lazio region in Italy. I’m loving the ethnic atmosphere in the house.

Some geographical background information: Ponza (Italian: Isola Di Ponza) is the largest of the Italian Pontine Islands archipelago, located 33 km south of Cape Circeo in the Tyrrhenian Sea. It also the name of the commune of the island, a part of the province of Latina in the Lazio region.

One of the photos from yesterday’s post is from a very small house in Uruguay. I posted about this lovely home some years ago but perhaps not all of you have seen it so there it is again. This house is located in the dunes of Cabo Polonio on the eastern coast of Uruguay. It is small, fitting only two people. The materials used for building are very simple, like those of all the houses in Cabo Polonio.

Also the interior is simple with whitewashed walls and floors. The main color is white with accessories in earthy tones. True to the spirit of the inhabitants in the area, the house remains without electricity using lanterns and candles.
