a white christmas

whitechristmas1.jpg

This home in Nyköpings, Sweden, is ready for Christmas. Visiting Sofia and David’s green-and white-painted wooden house is like stepping into a fairy tale by Astrid Lindgren.

Around Christmas time the atmosphere is even more magical with decorations in white and silver.

shades of blue in paola navone’s milan home

In an earlier post you could see Paola Navone’s home in Greece, where white was the dominant ‘color’. For her home in Milan, Italy, Paola has chosen blue as the main color for her home. Most furniture and accessories have been brought from Paola’s many travels.

a home in the UK

I am too busy to write a long post. So today a post with a lot of images and inspiration, and a limited amount of text..

This stunning architect designed house is located in Guildford, UK. I love the large open-plan kitchen/diner with the Eames chairs!

These dog inspired designs are the last in the series about India Mahdavi. Shelves Reservoir Dog (left) and Dog’s life (right) are both made from natural oak wood. I hope you have enjoyed this series about this talented designer! Check out her website for a complete overview of her work.

In the Spotlight: Designer India Mahdavi (4)

furniture
Some more inspirational images from the work of designer India Mahdavi! I have been admiring her work ever since I saw what she did with the Condesa DF hotel in Mexico city. She is not only a very talented interior designer but she also carries her own, gorgeous, collection of furniture. All her designs are marked by elegance and display a great sophistication.

The name of the green seat is Don Carlos, and is available in a rocking chair version as well. For that gorgeous fauteuil, Bluffer, fabric from Marimekko has been used. I love it! The cute Dot stools are available in different colours and fabrics.

Lightwords: a candle holder with a personal message

korf
I love this! With the Lightwords Votive Holder, designed by India Mahdavi for Artecnica, you can create a personalized candle holder. By simply punching out the holes in the holder, you can ‘write’ a personal message. Light up a candle and your message shines through. This will make a great gift. And, costing around $12/€9 for two, it is affordable too! Available from Modern Motive and Unitkat.
