things that caught my eye

todayimloving1.jpg

Today I’d like to show you some things that caught my eye this week. The Rangoli patchwork bedspread in the images above and below is handcrafted from silk in India (found via Simple Blueprint).

todayimloving2.jpg

I love the rich hues of the geometric design, which are complimented by aqua topstitching and backed with luxurious silk in fuschia.

todayimloving3.jpg

Clockwise starting top left: Tom Dixon light made from brass with a high gloss white powder coat exterior; Tom Dixon’s fan chair which is a modern take on the classical Windsor chair; wooden macrame bangles from Eleanor Ford; hand-loomed silk cushion in jacquard weave.

soft cabinets from fiele

fiele1.jpg

Another Woonbeurs find is a cabinet collection called Fiele (which is Frisian for feel). These artisan cabinets consist of a wooden frame with a top layer of hand woven fabric. Every cabinet is unique because of the hand woven fabric which is different for each cabinet.

fiele2.jpg

How does it work? You choose a cabinet (available in various models and sizes) and a specific fabric from their stock. Then the fabric is constructed on the cabinet. More information and contact details can be found on this website (which is in Dutch).

day beds by another country

daybedanothercountry1.jpg

Today I’m loving … these gorgeous day beds from Another Country. I especially like the one in the red/white fabric (top image)! In the daytime the bed can be used for lounging and additional seating and at night as a put-me-up (and shares the proportions of a standard single bed) for guests who just don’t want to go. It can also easily be used as a coffee table.

daybedanothercountry2.jpg

The base of the day bed is solid European oak and the mattress is made by Naturalmat in Devon, UK. It has an organic latex core wrapped in organic coir and wool. It comes upholstered in a Bute fabric from Scotland with a six-button detail. More information and other gorgeous furniture pieces can be found on Another Country’s website.
