We are heading towards the holiday season and soon we will be running around shopping for gifts. This sweet necklace by Lennebelle will make a perfect gift! The cute pinecone pendant comes on a sterling silver necklace detailed with wooden beads and a brown tassel (you can also choose another color tassel). The necklace comes in an antique glass tube which makes this an unique gift for a friend or yourself.

The award winning Scrapwood Wallpaper Collection is a worldwide success. Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek has designed two additional styles which are available from November.

The wallpaper emulates planks of scrapwood, which gives a warm and rustic feeling to your home.

More information can be found on this website, where you can also purchase the wallpaper.

Another Woonbeurs find is a cabinet collection called Fiele (which is Frisian for feel). These artisan cabinets consist of a wooden frame with a top layer of hand woven fabric. Every cabinet is unique because of the hand woven fabric which is different for each cabinet.

How does it work? You choose a cabinet (available in various models and sizes) and a specific fabric from their stock. Then the fabric is constructed on the cabinet. More information and contact details can be found on this website (which is in Dutch).

Today I’m loving … the 5 O’Clock Chair from Dutch design brand Moooi. This chair designed by Slovenian designer Nika Zupanc is based on her memories of retro furniture and English porcelain.

Dutch designer Lenneke Wispelwey graduated in 2008 with a collection porcelain called “de zoete inval”. One month later she started her own studio in Arnhem, The Netherlands.

Lenneke loves working with ceramics, but seh also works with other materials. She feels her work should make people smile. This is what she also tries to accomplisch in her styling work.

Today I am loving … this bathroom with the incredible bath boat from Dutch designer Wieki Somers.

Digna Kosse graduated cum laude at Design Academy Eindhoven (The Netherlands) in 2009. Since then she is working as a free-lance designer. I love her ceramics project ‘een menselijke maat’.

Digna: “People are consuming more and more. All materials and resources we are using, are not in proportion to our own bodies, and our size in relation to the planet we are living on. For a long time, the human body has been the measure for many things, f.i. distances and weights. In this project, my body becomes a measure for consumption.”

Digna measured all parts of her body in volumes (litres)and these volumes she has captured in a series of tableware. On every bowl, cup and dish an engravement is placed, that says which part of the body and which volume fit into it.

New at Le Souk is this gorgeous Birdhouse wallpaper. This unique wallpaper will turn any room in your house into something special! The wallpaper is filled with sweet birdhouses and elegant little birds on a worn-out background. Fabrics from the remnant basket, newspaper clippings, and cheerful prints provide a decoration for your wall.

Tip: you can also mount the wallpaper in a frame, on cabinet doors and other kinds of furniture. Also great to be used for nurseries and kids rooms!

It’s a warm day today. Too warm for someone who is almost 7 months pregnant.. I try to stay as cool as possible but the high temperature did not stop me from thinking about knitted baby hats. Our baby boy is expected to be born at the end of September. One of these cute knitted hats from bieq will sure get him through autumn and winter!
bieq is a Dutch label started by Angelique Roelofsen a few years ago because of her passion for handicrafts. It evokes nostalgia and shows the care and attention with which it has been made. Her brand sells completely handknitted items only, everything made from 100% pure merinowool. Specialized in babyhats, they also sell a wide range of babymittens together with clothing and beautiful blankets. You can shop online for these beautiful items here.
