As Christmas is only a few days away, this will be one of the last Christmas themed posts. The image above is from Sweet Paul: I’m loving the tree against that beautiful blue wall.

handrail made from branches

handrail1.jpg

Although we have been living in our house for two years now there are still a list of unfinished projects. One of those projects was making a handrail for our stairs. We finally finished the handrail this week and I think it is gorgeous. We have used branches as a handrail to add a rustic feel which can be found throughout our entire home.

Carpenter Michiel helped us executing the idea we had of using branches. If you are looking for a good carpenter in the Amsterdam and Waterland region, I can fully recommend Michiel. Contact me if you would like to have his details.

I am learning how to sew and this sewing kit from Etsy shop Sam Made is perfect for a starter like me. The screen printed pouch contains some handy tools. Good to know: $5 from each kit will be pooled and lent via Kiva.

diy: box pull toys

doos1.jpg

I used to love crafting when I was a kid (I still do but I have so little time..). When Kick is a little bit older I will certainly do a lot of crafting with him.! Made by Joel is kids craft blog where you can find lovely projects which you can do with your kids. Joel is a stay-at-home dad and artist and is responsible for entertaining a pair of twins, so he had to come up with some great ideas to keep them busy.

doos2.jpg

These pull-along toys that Joel designed for online magazine LMNOP, are fun and easy to make. You can find full instructions in the LMNOP issue (no. 12) which is free and you can download it here.
