A SERENE, NEUTRAL COLORED COTTAGE IN BYRON BAY

Lotte Barnes and Lia-Belle King, co-founders of stylish boutique Worn, have decorated their 1900s principal’s cottage in the Byron Bay Hinterland (Australia) in a neutral color palette. I love that they prefer handmade items or works that have a personal element to their creation and therefor they mostly buy directly from craftsmen and artists. The couple on their design aesthetic: “We like our home to be a harmonious reflection of the environment outside, but also of our personal and locational journeys. “The practice of wabi-sabi [beauty in the imperfect and incomplete] influences our aesthetic, making for a space that is humble and calm, but also artistically interesting.”

  1. What a lovely home. I love the attention to craftsmanship! They also seem like a beautiful family.
