AN OLD FARMHOUSE TURNED INTO A SUMMER COTTAGE

An old farmhouse near the beach of Comporta in Portugal has been turned into a stylish summer home by interior designer Thierry Mérillou and architect Daniel Suduca. Landscaper Louis Benech, responsible for historic gardens such as Versailles, helped them with the garden.

  1. I love it, it really does look like a beach cottage, it has a summery and airy vibe.

  2. It has such a rustic and earthy vibe, very elemental. I love how the rust and white colors are used throughout, as well as the long lines and thatchwork are repeated themes. Even outdoors the look is repeated in the landscape, or maybe the interior mimicked the landscape. The overall effect is very calming and soothing and restful. I want to go there!

  3. wow, amazing. i love the simplicity yet when you look closer it’s actually very detailed. i want to summer there!!
