A MID CENTURY MODERN HOME IN SOUTH AFRICA

de2

A South African family who had been living in London for years returned to South Africa to build their dream home. Together with architect Antonio Zaninovic they created a stunning house on a piece of land in the neighborhood of Tamboerskloof, on the slopes of Lion’s Head mountain overlooking Cape Town. The design was inspired by the Case Study Houses, the experiments in California to design and build inexpensive and efficient model homes for the United States residential housing boom caused by the end of World War II and the return of millions of soldiers. For the decoration mid-century modern furniture pieces and accessories where used.
