Japanese artist Shino Takedo creates the most beautiful ceramic pieces. This is what she says about her work and herself: “I grew up on Kyushu island in southern Japan. Kyushu has a rich history of ceramics and arts. My mother admired and collected both. When I was a child we would travel all around Japan to look at different art shows and visit ceramic artists studios. My work is an appropriation of those more traditional Japanese art forms mixed with all the freshness of NYC today. All my work are hand-build, one of a kind. Searching for perfect imperfection, tracing memories, making story that connect the old to the new.” A list of stockists can be found on her website.
