This the warm and inviting family home of designer Ylva Sharp. When the holiday season is approaching Ylva makes her home, which is a renovated school house in Hjortnäs, Sweden, ready for Christmas by decorating it with sheepskins, wood work and beautiful decorations made from paper, pine cones and twigs. The family usually organise craft evenings with friends. It’s fun to make your own Christmas cards and decorations, says Ylva. Ylva’s tips for a warm Christmas atmosphere: “Take advantage of what nature has to offer. Small spruce, pine cones, twigs, etc. are great Christmas decorations. Also, group decorations together instead of spreading them out, it gives a calmer atmosphere. And last, lots of candlelight!”

What a beautiful space, I love the wooden ceiling. The decorations are so elegant and subtle.
This is stunning! Love the cool colour palette where I can imagine all the warmth coming from candle light in the evenings. xo
Really beautiful home, but nothing about it seems warm to me with all of those cool colors and neutrals.
Perfectly whimsical! What a wonderful greeting for your guests at they enter.
