Julie Klear and Moulay Essakalli, the creators of Zid Zid Kids, are the owners of this beautiful riad in Marrakesh, Morocco. They live in their colourful home with their two children, Noor and Zak.

In their interior they have mixed a contemporary touch with traditional Moroccan craftsmanship. Just like they do with their beautiful Zid Zid collection.

Their two children, who speak French, English and Arabic, have ample opportunity to express their creative talent.

I love the warm colored orange wall.

A Riad is traditional Moroccan house or palace with an interior garden or courtyard.

Of course you can find lots of Zid Zid items in Julie’s and Moulay’s home.

This winter home in Virrat, Finland, is designed by Helsinki studio Avanto Architects. The house with four wings called Four Cornered Villa has beautiful views over the surrounding landscape.

The house is stained black on the outside which contrasts beautifully with the very light interior. The building is insulated well and heated by wood only resulting in a carbon neutral building. There is no running water and the electricity is provided by the sun. Vegetables and herbs are cultivated on site.

Danish label by nord has some gorgeous new products in their collection. I love their cushions with photo print of some beautiful feathers. And the duvet cover with feather print is just as gorgeous. As all other by nord products, also these designs are inspired by Scandinavian nature.

Here you can see some more by nord items.

When Michael Stokkeby bought this cottage in Småland, Sweden, it needed an extensive renovation as it wasn’t renovated since the 1970′s. With regard to the interior of the cottage, it was important to Michael that it would be easy and breath summer.

On the floors are carpets, furniture is old and often a bit worn or made from untreated wood.

Michael uses this lovely house to escape his busy city life during the weekends and holidays. After a few hours’ drive he can forget about everyday life. With a beautiful forest nearby, the cottage has become the perfect place for relaxation and inspiration!

Almost every corner of the house is decorated for relaxation. A comfortable sofa, a bed, a hammock, a recliner: there are lots of places to relax.

The cottage has been painted with Falun red paint with white trims and window frames. Falun is the name of a Swedish, deep red paint well known for its use on wooden cottages and barns. The paint originated from the copper mine at Falun in Dalarna, Sweden. The traditional colour remains popular today due to its effectiveness in preserving wood

I received an email from Saana ja Olli, introducing me to their company and products. Saana ja Olli is a Finnish design label whose interior textiles are produced with the environment in mind, from hundred per cent European hemp fabric. The textile designers Saana and Olli combine olden times myths and magical creatures with traditional Finnish textile art in their new print named Yö metsässä (which translates ”A Night in the Forest”).

The print tells a story about life in the forest. Inspiration came from traditional Finnish lifestyle blended with magical elements, an old weird Finland that never existed. The magical creatures of the Yö metsässä line can be found on cushions, bags as well as sauna- and tea towels.
