Today some work space inspiration!

veneto2-2.jpg

These images are all from the portfolio of Susanna Vento, a stylist from Finland.

I love a clean, uncluttered look for a work space….

… but for how long will it stay like this?

a danish summer home

bedre2.jpg

This newly built summer house, designed by architect Mette Lange, is located in North Zealand, Denmark. The large windows and sliding doors offer excellent views on the nearby lake.

bedre3.jpg

The interior is kept simple with main colors being white and black.

bedre1.jpg

The house offers plenty of room for the entire family. There are bunk beds (bottom right image) for the two daughters.

bedre4.jpg

From the open plan kitchen there is a clear view of the entire living room with a cosy fireplace in the rear wall.

a stylish summer house on mykonos

witgrijs1.jpg

This stylish summer house is located on the Greek island Mykonos. It balances on a small hilltop with breathtaking views over the Aegean sea and the magical island of Delos. gives Villa Orpheus a fabulous impression on all who see it for the first time, the place is an oasis of luxury amidst the beautiful landscape.

witgrijs2.jpg

This villa belongs to Katie and Johnny Friedman who live here with their three children. The couple fell in love with the island years ago and even got married here.

witgrijs4.jpg

Although the house is only four years old, it is built in a charming traditional style with rounded corners, contrasting with the slightly rougher sand-colored stone tiles on the terrace.

witgrijs3.jpg

The renovation of the interior is done by South African interior designer Jayne Wunder. She is a good family friend and had previously decorated their home in London.

witgrijs6.jpg

With three boys under twelve living in the house, practical details were of great importance, but the owners also wanted a modern and timeless look that blends with the distinctive architecture of Mykonos.

witgrijs5.jpg

Jayne’s signature style is a minimalistic and soothing monochromatic design.

witgrijs7.jpg

A fifty-century furniture such as Jacobsen’s Swan and Saarinen Tulip are mixed with Jaynes’s own designs.

robot wallpaper

robotwallpaper1.jpg

I LOVE this robot wallpaper design by Dutch design label Studio Ditte. It makes me want to redo my son’s room right now! After a journey through containers with small hardware parts and disassembling appliances, Studio Ditte brings a unique robot wallpaper. The army of friendly robots is made from old prints and decorated with small finds. The robot wallpaper is a blend of the nostalgic and the digital age.

This super cool wallpaper is available here (135 EUR per roll).

mjölk

mjolk1.jpg

Mjölk is a beautiful shop that represents designers from Scandinavia and Japan. From classic and current furniture to Japanese hand crafts, Mjölk reflects the pure aesthetic of the North. There lifestyle store is located in Toronto, Canada but good news: they have an online store as well.

mjolk3.jpg

Mjölk’s owners: “We look to our everyday life to find inspiration for the products we carry. Our smaller products can be used without thought, or quietly admired. In our eyes just the simple satisfaction of functionality and durability, is all you need for a successful product, but when you can derive beauty from the uttermost simplistic tools, then you have something special.”

joelparis1.jpg

Today I’m loving … these free downloadable Paris City templates created by Made by Joel. This is fun (and educational) thing to do with your kids. Explore Paris together, driving the Citroën car through the Arc de Triomphe, buying candy at the Confiserie, and standing at the top of the Eiffel Tower.

joelparis2.jpg

You can get the templates here. A brief description of the buildings is included so you can tell your children about Paris. Tres jolie!

an old renovated spanish farmhouse

essteen1.jpg

Another beauty from Spain! This 14th century farmhouse is located in the centre of Madremanya in the Girona region (Spain). The farmhouse has been completely restored.

essteen2.jpg

The main goal of the owners was to keep the keep the original charm of the house and to rebuild it with respect to the original architecture and use of materials.

essteen4.jpg

Plastered walls and ceilings were painted in vanilla which contrast beautiful with the exposed brick walls.

essteen6.jpg

The simplicity of the furniture enhances the beauty of the architectural elements on the ground floor. The sofa and iron table in the living room are from Ikea. The leather chair is an antique piece.

essteen5.jpg

In the master bathroom original stone walls are combined with polished concrete structures.
