day beds by another country

daybedanothercountry1.jpg

Today I’m loving … these gorgeous day beds from Another Country. I especially like the one in the red/white fabric (top image)! In the daytime the bed can be used for lounging and additional seating and at night as a put-me-up (and shares the proportions of a standard single bed) for guests who just don’t want to go. It can also easily be used as a coffee table.

The base of the day bed is solid European oak and the mattress is made by Naturalmat in Devon, UK. It has an organic latex core wrapped in organic coir and wool. It comes upholstered in a Bute fabric from Scotland with a six-button detail. More information and other gorgeous furniture pieces can be found on Another Country’s website.

diy: displaying artwork with clothhangers

Today I’m loving … displaying artwork with pant/skirt hangers. This is a budget friendly solution (you can get these hanger for less then one USD/EURO at IKEA) as you don’t have to get your artwork framed. And it looks good as well!

white with a dash of color

This summer home in the South of France has been decorated by French interior designer Annick Lestrohan. She has added splashes of color to a predominantly white base. The turquoise and green accent colors give a certain freshness to the house.

a gorgeous summer home on corsica

corsica1.jpg

This stunning house can be found on the island of Corsica (France). The lucky owners visit this holiday home every summer, bringing friends as this gorgeous house can accommodate seventeen people.

The modern stainless steel kitchen (top left image) blends surprisingly well with the rustic stone walls. The rooms are outfitted with a mix of wooden furniture, modern pieces and ethnic accessories.
