mint green

mintgreen3.jpg

I have been seeing a lot of mint green lately. Did Paula Navona set a trend with these chairs in mint? The image above is from ferm LIVING.

mintgreen2.jpg

I am not a big fan of this color but I do think that it is a lovely color for a nursery. It is different than the standard pink or baby blue and it is still a sweet color. You can find mint green pompoms at Etsy shop PomLove.

The image from the beautiful nursery above (I love the vintage bed) is from mali-mo.

colors of the provence

provenceshutters1.jpg

Today’s beautiful weather inspired me to do this post about the Provence, one of my favorite holiday destinations. The food, the wine, the beautiful colors and the beautiful houses with those typical French door shutters … life is good over there!

provence3.jpg

The blue shutters are typical for the Provence region. You see a lot of houses here with shutters in this particular color.

Isn’t the purple color of the lavender fields stunning!

A traditional Provence farmhouse is called a Mas.

a house with children in london

nina1.jpg

This is the beautiful London home of Swedish illustrator Nina Blychert where she lives with her French husband and their two sons. Together they rebuilt a magnificent Edwardian Kensington house near Hyde Park. Nina has managed to combine the simplicity of Scandinavian art with attention to detail which can also be found in those beautiful mansions in France.

nina3.jpg

Gorgeous wooden flooring, comfy sofas, white walls and contemporary art: the vibe is refined, relaxed, artistic and multicultural all at once. And everything is designed to leave room for creativity for the children and Nina, who will be releasing a new book soon.

diy project: house bookshelf

bookhouse.jpg

This lovely house bookshelf has been made out of a sheet plywood. But you can also use a cheap bookcase (for example from IKEA) and turn it into a dollhouse / bookshelf. A fun project to do and not that difficult! Have you seen that tissue box that doubles as a chimney?!
