diy project: painted porcelain

porcelain.jpg

You can easily revamp your white china (from IKEA for example) with a porcelain paint pen (which you can find in a craft store). Once finished, you just bake it at 150`C for 35 minutes and you’re done!

more kids’ spaces

More nursery inspiration today. I am loving the subtle yellow accents in these images that are styled by Susanna Vento. The beautiful Baltic Rocking Horse (top left image) is from Offi. This sturdy rocker has been in production for over 50 years and will never go out of style. The elephant in the top right picture is from Eames. The cardboard cradle (below left) is from Green Lullaby and it is available from Smallable.

home made lemonade

It’s going to be a very warm weekend here in The Netherlands. Time to make ice cold homemade lemonade! I usually make mine with limes and fresh mint but there are thousands of different recipes. You can find some recipes here. Have a great weekend!

crocheted bedspread

vento1.jpg

Today some more bedroom & bed linen inspiration! The beautiful images come from the portfolio of Finnish stylist Susanna Vento. The crocheted bedspread in the image above is just gorgeous. I love these kind of bedspreads and I never can resist buying when I find one. I am now selling some vintage crocheted bedspreads (as I am having too many): you can find them on my Flickr page.

I am not a big fan of the color pink but I love the powdery pink shade in the images above.

holiday mood

vacance.jpg

Some holiday inspired images to match my summer mood. Temperatures will rise above 30 degrees Celsius (which is 86 Fahrenheit) again in the coming days. Normally I like this kind of weather but it is more difficult to cope with the heat now I’m six months pregnant.

Today I am loving … these items from Anthropologie in gorgeous summery colours.

a summer house in the heart of paris

paola4.jpg

Designer Paola Navone (one of my favorite designers!) has transformed a loft into a summer house in the heart of Paris, France. The designer has played with light and contrast in this large space. The stainless steel kitchen cabinets and appliances make a beautiful contrast with the whitewashed stone walls. A white canvas curtain separates the kitchen from the dining area.

The rectangular table was made from planks that were painted gray and then drilled and stitched together with red string. Chinese chairs are painted in a beautiful shade of green.

paola5.jpg

Paola designed the huge white couch “Marocco” (top image) for Casa Milano. The white curtains in the bedroom (image below) hide a dressing room. I am loving the tiles in the bathroom and bedroom: such a gorgeous shade of blue!

tribal inspired bags from thailand

etsybags.jpg

Today I’m loving …. these colorful bags from Etsy seller Dazzling Lanna. This shop offers a wide choice of handmade ethnic bags made from materials from Thailand’s Northern Region. Most of the bags are made from the authentic vintage Hmong baby carrier. Each bag has its own unique pattern.

beds with headboards

vtwonenbed4.jpg

Today’s post is all about beds. All these beds are different in shape in style but they all have in common that they have a headboard. Which one is your favorite?

vtwonenbed3.jpg

I like the iron bed in the image above as it has a more romantic, country style look.

vtwonenbed2.jpg

This bed (above) with yellow and golden touches brightens up the room.

vtwonenbed.jpg

The pink bed in the image above has a more glamorous feel to it. The head board below is made from felt and looks warm and cosy.
