Although we are are in midst of winter here in The Netherlands (lots of snow!), I am looking for inspirational garden images. We will be renovating our garden this spring and we are now planning the lay-out and design. The look we are after for our garden is a modern cottage garden. Suggestions for websites with inspiring images are very welcome!

A while ago I read in an Australian magazine about Sibella Court. This Australian stylist recenlty published her beautiful book Etcetera: Creating Beautiful Interiors with the Things You Love.

I didn’t have time to check out Sibella’s website until now and I was happy to find some gorgeous photos. Sibella’s very inspring website is called The Society Inc and is definitely worth visiting!.

About Sibella: ‘Despite being born in idyllic Sydney, Sibella’s gypsy soul had her travelling the world searching for beautiful and unusual things to discover, from a very early age.

Currently a judge on the Channel 9 television design series HomeMADE and Interiors Editor for Grazia magazine, Sibella has a beautiful props salon in Paddington “The Society Inc”, a paint range with Murobond, and a handful of prestige advertising clients who draw on her myriad of aesthetic and practical skills.”

Design studio Designerette is a young design studio, currently working in London and Amsterdam. They have created this scaled-up version of a doll’s house tea service, called Mini. The full-size teapot, cups and saucers are made of porcelain and retain the shape of the tiny originals.

The designers: “Driven by the influence scale has on the image of our daily use objects, Mini is originated from a porcelain miniature dollhouse teaset, brought back to human scale to fulfill its original function.”

The big pendant light (the ‘Random Light’) is from Dutch designer Bertjan Pot.

Some more jewellery today! These beauties (I love the semi-precious stones!) are from The Jewelry Story. The designers, Jan Kerkstra and Marion Pannekoek go searching for surprising forms and materials which, in combination, radiate a timeless and powerful simplicity. They make each piece by hand, with love and skill. Made in The Netherlands! Marion also has a beautiful blog called The Latest Story which is worth visiting.

I’d like to start with wishing you a happy, healthy & wonderful 2010! Thanks for visiting my blog in 2009. I hope you will continue reading the style files in 2010 as well!
