We have been having lots of snow for the past weeks. I can’t remember that we had this much snow in one winter. Here are some winter wonderland photos that I have been shooting this winter. The blue/grey house in the middle in the top image is ours.

View on the back of our house and garden (top image), where some beautiful robins are living.

Gorgeous swans at the back of our house.

A lake nearby.

A beautiful house (the vicarage) in our street.

It is a bit unusual but I like how these old birdcages are used for the styling of a wedding shoot.

This is interior designer Jacques Grange’s Portuguese retreat. The gorgeous loft-style living room is filled with Fifties French furniture, pillows made from African fabrics and rugs from Morocco. Isn’t that beamed ceiling gorgeous!

Jacques Grange has created haute interiors for clients including Princess Caroline of Monaco, Yves Saint Laurent and François Pinault. His grand rooms are often furnished with great Louis XV, Napoleon III and Régence pieces.

Casa Nina, as the house is named, is actually a collection of houses, a series of rough-hewn cabanas cradled in a valley of dunes in the Alentejo region, a remote stretch of the Portugese coast.

I can’t resist an interior photo with Tolix chairs in it..

I love everything about this post: the styling, the products, the setting, the photo’s.. everything! This stunning table arrangement is created by Sunday Suppers, who were asked to guest blog for Martha Stewart’s wedding blog. For this post they decided to create a dessert cheese table—very much in the French fashion—using a rustic chic look for décor, staying within the given color palate of cream and white.

They sought out cheese that created visual variety for the display, and variety in taste for the serving. They also searched for pairings that really highlighted and complimented their cheese. Once the cheeses were selected they had a great time arranging a beautiful buffet table. Delicate pairings like french baguette, honey, and pear, were used to add colors and shapes.

Sunday Suppers is a class-cooking- dining experience, pairing friends and food. The food is market fresh, local and organic and the approach is to create seasonal and fresh meals together. The classes are held in a waterfront loft in Brooklyn, NY and are taught by Local Chefs.

Pot holders as wall decoration? What an unusual but lovely idea!

These images are from the Morrocan home of designer Agnès Emery. The gorgeous Moroccan tiles (called zelliges) are available from her shop Emery & Cie (located in Antwerp, Brussels, Paris and London).

This is the Copenhagen home of Danish fashion designer Malene Birger (I love her clothes!).

With a sense for harmony in colors and materials, the fashion designer created a home filled with pictures, candles, silver and fashion accessories.

Bed linen and bedspreads are in black and white, but with different patterns. The dog toy is a stuffed toy version of their own dog, Delhi.

The living room is dominated by an enormous cabinet, filled with silver pieces and glass objects. The black leather chairs are from Fritz Hansen. A collection of candle holders is standing on a large silver tray.
