porcelain objects from coe&waito

ceramics1.jpg

These lovely porcelain objects from coe&waito make a beautiful gift. The cones (image above) are my favourite. Each porcelain pine cone is meticulously hand sculpted, capturing the intricate beauty of natural specimens.

herds pillows by skinny laminx

herds.jpg

I will not make any Christmas gift guides this year but I will be featuring some items that make great (Christmas) gift. For example these beautiful pillows handmade by Skinny laMinx. The design has ancient origins: the little drawing of a duiker that is used in repeat is taken from a 2000-year-old cave drawing in the Cedarberg, just a few hours north of Cape Town, South Africa. The Herds design is screenprinted with waterbased ink onto 100% cotton with a linen-look slubby texture, and overdyed in a natural tone. You can visit Skinny laMinx’ Etsy shop here.

a house on ibiza

ibiza3.jpg

It is dark and rainy here in The Netherland. Time to make a trip to Spain! This beautiful finca (= a rural property in Spain) is located on the island of Ibiza in Spain.

ibiza2.jpg

The images are shot by Jordi Canosa, a Spanish photographer who works for various interior magazines.

ibiza6.jpg

The decoration is simple and rustic. Not much is needed in a gorgeous home like this. I love the beamed ceilings and the white walls.

ibiza4.jpg

The outdoor area (below) has a gorgeous view on Es Vedra, an uninhabited island approximately 2 km off the western coast of Ibiza.

tealight candle holders

candles.jpg

You can never have too many candles at this time of year. I like to use glass tealight holders with an antiqued mercury effect such as the ones in the image above.

Gina Liberto sent me an email to introduce her small company Land-Rich that she recently opened together with her partner. Land-Rich is a refined shop based out of Brooklyn, New York. Their mission is to provide beautiful objects that symbolize the quality, functionality, and sustainability of simpler times.

Each quarter Land-Rich will debut a new edition of products, all inspired by raw nature. These timeless items will then become a part of Land-Rich’s permanent collection. The first edition are these handmade, nature-inspired holiday bulbs, which can be purchased online.

The cute pompom gift toppers (which I found on the Nice Package blog) give something special to Christmas present. It is very easy to make them yourselves. You can find a video tutorial here.
