Merry Christmas everyone! We are having a white Christmas here in The Netherlands.

I’m loving this photo which I found on Design*Sponge. This is the living room of a house designed by Jessica Helgerson. The clients for this project in Portland, USA, were a young family with a very modern aesthetic. The color palette is a simple gradation of whites and cool grays with some bright accents. The gorgeous knitted poufs are from Dutch designer Christien Meindertsma. An affordable version of a crocheted pouf is available from Le Souk.

it looks good to me

Caroline from the illustrated fashion blog ‘It looks good to me‘ was so inspired by the image with the red chandelier that she decided to create an outfit inspired by it. Caroline: “Inspired by the understated sophistication in this dining area, I created a look to do just that. The knit Rag and Bone skirt with simple white T are fancied up a little with layered necklaces inspired by that incredible coral branch chandelier. Look-at-me red shoes from Opening Ceremony bring the whole thing together just like the legs on the table in the photo.”

Thanks Caroline, I am very flattered and I love the outfit you created!

christmas dinner name cards

tags.jpg

This is another great idea from Sweet Paul! Pears are used as name card holders. Just cut out leafs in craft paper using pinking shears. Then make a hole in one end. Stick a little branch with some small leafs in each pear and attach the name leaf. Easy to do!

christmas shopping

Have you done all your Christmas shopping? I still have to do mine as I have been snowed in for the last four days. I only wish I would look as good and relaxed doing my shopping as this young Jane Birkin does…

christmas packaging & decorations

xmashearts.jpg

Add a little love to your Christmas packaging and decorations with these ideas that I found on various blogs. The image above is from Bloesem. The table decoration created by Irene is kept clean and simple, combining three colors of pure linen, light grey, white and a darker grey. Some red, green and beige colors have been added.

These beautiful photos were found on Decor8, where guest writer Leslie created this for the column Color Me Pretty. Red, white and brown kraft paper brown have been used for a simple and slightly nostalgic approach to the winter holidays. Some vintage items are combined with new items. A Japanese newspaper functions as wrapping paper.

During a trip to Denmark Leslie got really inspired with how they decorate for their winter holidays.
