Bring a Scandinavian Christmas atmosphere in your home with these ornaments from Danish brand Ferm Living, which are available from Le Souk. This limited edition Christmas collection is exclusively designed for Danish warehouse Magasin. The collection is available in only a limited number of shops and we are proud to have these beautiful items in our collection. The very cute birds ornaments (above) are made from cotton.

The cones and squirrel ornaments (top image) come in a set of five ornaments, the plywood Christmas tree (left image) is available in natural and white, the wooden Birdie ornaments (right image) are available in two sizes.

These wooden Christmas letterpress letters are the perfect Christmas ornaments. Great to give as a present! All these ornaments match very well with the wooden birdhouse ornaments and the wooden teddy bear ornaments.

I’m loving this cute dress from Blushless. The designer: ‘The Wild At Heart mini dress, made of extra soft, sexy-touch vegan leather in bright white. This is the key piece of the collection, one of my personal favourites but also one of the most popular . The dress embodies the inspiration that provided the creative energy for when I first began Blushless. For the Girl that’s wild at heart and weird on top. Perfect for weddings or other special occasions.’

Bed & Breakfast Boulevard Leopold is situated in the Jewish quarter of Antwerp, Belgium. The beautiful building is dating from 1890 and it has always been respected by its (previous) owners. The house has been adapted to modern comforts without loosing its character. All of its original moldings, parquet floors, and tiles are still in place.

The B&B has three beautifully decorated rooms, all with a different atmosphere. There are also apartments for rent, which is perfect if you plan to stay longer or if you need more space. Visit Boulevard Leopold website for more information about rates and reservations.

Gunnel Sahlin is a designer for IKEA. She lives in this former school building in Sweden. The house, situated between a forest and a lake, has been beautifully restored. Gunnel has decorated her home in that typical Swedish style (simple, functional and beautiful). Most of the furniture used are traditional pieces of Scandinavian origin.

Tonale is Alessi’s new tableware collection designed by British architect David Chipperfield. The colours of the various products are inspired by paintings of Italian artist Giorgio Morandi.

The forms were inspired by ancient Korean stoneware.

Alessi: “Materials and colours are the two main assets of the service and invite the user to arrange the objects on the table so that they can be seen as a whole. The stoneware ceramic pieces come in tonal colours: light grey, light earth, dark grey, red earth, white earth, white yellow and pale yellow. The series is completed by an enamelled steel tray shaded in a dark green colour and available in a single rectangular size.”

It is a real autumn day (wet & dark): time to light up the fireplace. Have a wonderful weekend!

I have written about Pinch before but they have some gorgeous new furniture pieces so I could not resist featuring more of their designs.

Pinch was founded in 2004 as collaboration between husband and wife team Russell Pinch and Oona Bannon. Working from their studio /showroom in London, UK, they aim to create graceful and iconic furniture and lighting that work for both elegant domestic spaces and stylish contract environments.

Their approach to design combines a keen appreciation of artistic lines and form, absolute attention to detail and sensitivity to materials. These combined qualities lend their creations integrity and artistic elegance in equal measure.

Pinch: “Our pieces are made by hand and to order, and we have worked hard to locate and employ the best quality makers here in the UK. We believe in using local, making to need, and offering bespoke flexibility wherever possible to ensure our clients commission pieces that really deliver both on function and aesthetic.”

Cabinet Joyce (above) is one of my favorite new Pinch pieces. It is inspired by Victorian optometrist’s shopfitting. It has sliding glass fronted doors and a cherry-lined interior with shelves and drawers making it suitable for a variety of uses throughout the house. The cabinet is available in solid timber and painted finishes with interior options of shelves and/or drawers.

Where are we travelling to today? To be honest, I don’t know. These images are shot by Swedish photographer Stellan Herner for Elle Interior (Sweden).

I assume that this gorgeous house (and garden!) is located in Sweden. Is there anyone who has read the article in Elle Interior and who can give us more information? Update: Alexandra from Living in Andyland just commented that “this house is located on the island of Gotland, east of the Swedish mainland. These beautiful limestone houses are very typical for the island”. Thanks Alexandra!

I love the use of greys but also the different use of various (natural) materials. The overall atmosphere is basic and calm.

I’m loving this initiative! Mary, Clare, and Crystal wanted to bake all day and night, experiment with new recipes, and make their favorite stuff but they knew there was no way on planet Earth that they could eat all the sweets they wanted to make. They had to come up with a way to share. So they founded Treat Street. Treat Street is the original, friendly, neighborhood, underground, roving, secret bakery. Every so often, they set up cardboard shop in a driveway with a table or two loaded with homemade goodness and wait to see what happens. Friends, neighbors, and total strangers show up and eat treats!

Today’s trip takes us to Mexico! We go to Tulum, on the Yucatan Peninsula, where Nicolas Malleville and Francesca Bonato have their beautiful beach hotel.

The elegant and unique interior design integrates Asian and European influences. With turquoise water and palm trees, beautiful fixtures, Mexican artefacts, handmade furniture, personal touches can be found in every corner, delighting senses and offering glimpses into the culture of the region.

Besides being a hotelier, Nicolas also founded Coqui Coqui Perfumes, a small perfume lab in the mystical and colonial town of Valladolid. Scented candles from their own perfumeria can be found in every room of the hotel.
