Gunnel Sahlin is a designer for IKEA. She lives in this former school building in Sweden. The house, situated between a forest and a lake, has been beautifully restored. Gunnel has decorated her home in that typical Swedish style (simple, functional and beautiful). Most of the furniture used are traditional pieces of Scandinavian origin.

I’m absolutely swooning over this. I love that kitchen and the living area and the dining area! And the tall windows…heavenly! I would very happily move in.

Such beautiful light! Love the over sized subway tiles in the kitchen–funky use of them. We are big fans of subway tiles.
