a typical scandinavian home

scandinavie2.jpg
This beautiful house is decorated in that typical Scandinavian style: shades of whites, beige, and light blues, white wooden floors and wooden furniture. Troughout the entire house splashes of blue are added to the neutral colours scheme. Scandinavian countries usually experience long winters and sometimes sunlight is less experienced, so this resulted to a need for airy and sleek interiors that the sunlight is made available most.

cutlery made from plastic bottles

plastic500.jpg
Spanish designer Oscar Diaz has created a cutlery set made from plastic bottles. The set, called Found, is made by plating the plastic first in copper and then in tin. The spoon, fork, and knife, have all been made from parts of existing bottles found at the local supermarket. The parts were selected so the cutlery is easy to pick up from the table and performs like any other cutlery.

The design process starts on the supermarket were the bottles are selected by their curves. The use of those available shapes, allows a small batch production without the need any mould. Each set is unique due to the hand-cut nature of each piece.

This beautiful farmhouse, dating from XVIIth century, belongs to architect Marco Costanzi. Each summer he and his family come here to recharge and to enjoy the nature of Puglia. The top image shows the bathroom. To maintain privacy without partitioning the room, the architect has built a wall to separate the bathroom from the bedroom.

The entire house has been renovated with respect to old traditions. The walls are made of polished concrete and plastered with a powder made from Lecce stone mixed with limestone.
