ikea catalogue from 1965

The new IKEA catalogue is out! The catalogue is published in 55 different editions, in 27 languages for 35 countries. It has surpassed the Bible as the most published work, estimated 175 million copies (2006) worldwide. The first catalogue was published in 1951. The images above and below images are from the 1965 catalogue. Funny that this 44 year old catalogue still has a familiar look!

Although summer is almost over in this part of the world, I still have some posts about beautiful summerhouses lined up. I hope you don’t mind..

This gorgeous home belongs to a lady called Anna. It is located on Spanish island Formentera. The images are shot by Jordi Canosa, a Spanish photographer who works for various magazines.

a scandinavian summer retreat

This modern Scandinavian home is used as a summer retreat. But the beautiful fireplace makes the house also a great place to spend autumn days & nights.

The decoration is simple but stylish. That cute squirrel duvet cover (image in upper left corner) is from by nord by the way. This brand was recently added to the collection at Le Souk.

These inspirational images are from James Merrell’s portfolio. James is a London based photographer whose work has been published in various magazines and books. I recently saw these images in a magazine (in Living etc. I believe) and my eyes were immediately drawn to that gorgeous closet (image in upper left corner).
