Filicudi is one of the Aeolian islands indeed – each island is ‘known’ for something. Panarea is the party island, Stromboli has black sandy beaches, Alicudi and Filicudi are the ‘posh’ ones, with more high end tourism… Lipari is the biggest, and I believe the only one to have a school. I was in Filicudi 15 years ago or so, and at the time there were only a handful of cars, as petrol was hard to come by, and only salt-water swimming pools (not enough drinking water to fill them!). It is absolutely gorgeous. And great capers and figs (but not much else in terms of food, as everything has to come from mainland Sicily).

Hi Samantha, you are right: Filicudi is one of eight islands that make up the Aeolian archipelago. I have never been there but it looks gorgeous. It is now on my list of places to visit!

I think it’s part of the aeolian islands….
if so…I went there during my study abroad in florence. Lipari, Volcano….everything is so stunning there.
