wallpaper is not just for walls

wallpaper
You can do more with wallpaper than just cover your walls with it! In the picture below framed wallpaper functions as a piece of art. In the image above blue wall paper with a flower pattern is used for the inside of a closet. I thing that the shoe wallpaper from Swedish designer Lisa Bengtsson would be very suitable for this.

a summer house on panarea, italy

Hello my friends! I just came back from a wonderful holiday in the Provence (France). The weather was beautiful, the landscape gorgeous and the food & wine were delicious. Now I am having a hard time getting back in the swing of things!

As I am still in the holiday mood, today some pictures of a summer house located on Panarea, Italy. Panarea is the second smallest of the eight Aeolian Islands, a volcanic island chain north of Sicily. There are currently about 280 residents living on the island year-round; however the population increases dramatically in summer with the influx of tourists. In recent years, the island has become known internationally for its celebrity visitors.

I love the simple decor. And isn’t that view gorgeous? Sigh, I want to go on holiday again!

b-set by hella jongerius – 10th anniversary

The B-set from Hella Jongerius was launched in 1999 and is generally considered to be an icon in the history of Dutch design. Reason enough for Royal Tichelaar Makkum to celebrate its 10th anniversary by extending the set with four new colours: blue, green, brown and pink.

While makers of crockery usually aim for perfection, the B-set is conspicuous for plates that can barely be stacked orderly, dishes that are not quite circular and mugs of varying thickness. Such little deviations come unavoidable with the deliberately chosen production process. The peccadillos make each piece special; the beauty of imperfection is made visible in a most inspiring manner.

The B-set is available from Royal Tichelaar.

traditional riad in the medina of marrakech

Through Mr & Mrs Smith you can book the most beautiful boutique hotels. Riad P’tit Habibi, situated in a traditional riad in the Marrakech medina, feels less like a boutique hotel and more like a peaceful private house. P’tit Habibi has a library with iPod docking station and Arabic music, as well as a Moroccan salon and DVD library. Films can be shown on an outdoor projector and the terrace with views over the rooftops is perfect for sunset drinks.

For the decoration of the individually designed rooms, traditional craftsmanship is combined with cutting edge design.

hugs & kisses

With the Tapestry sets from Emily Peacock you can make these wonderful cushions yourself. Emily: “The joy of making a beautiful object lies as much in the process as in the end result. It is rewarding and grounding, putting us back in touch with ourselves and offering an alternative to today’s hectic lifestyle.”
