I have been knowing about Pia’s project for a while. I am excited that I am now able to tell you that Pia Jane Bijkerk’s beautiful book about the best addresses in Paris is out on the shelves now! Pia, a talented stylist, has discovered more than 50 gorgeous shops in Paris where you’ll find the most original and creative clothing, jewelry, handbags, ceramics, home furnishings, and decorative objects in Paris.

Paris: Made by Hand celebrates shops that exemplify the Parisian fait main (= made by hand) aesthetic by offering truly one-of-a-kind items, produced or restored entirely by hand. And with its beautiful photography (shot by Pia herself), the design of the book makes it an art object unto itself. The book is sold in book stores world-wide. You can purchase the book online here. Even if you don’t have planned a trip to Paris soon this is a great book to read and drool over the pretty pictures. A perfect gift!

What a beautiful book, thanks for posting about it. I adore handmade items. Usually, though, I buy handmade bags, jewelry, etc. I probably should try to buy handmade stuff for the home too.
Can’t wait to receive the copy I have ordered. Leaving for Paris in 10 days…hope it gets there while I’m still there. It will surely end-up a much loved and dog-eared little number. Thanks for the post!
I hope you will receive your copy on time Rosie. Have a fabulous time in Paris!
thank you for posting about my book danielle!
amuletica – there are all sorts of places in the book that make all sorts of things, including bags and jewelry – some of them have online shops too so even if you don’t get to paris in the near future, you can purchase a ‘handmade in paris’ piece online!
rosie goa – you are so sweet! yes i really hope your copy arrives before your trip, please let me know if you get to use it while there!
