Patricia Urquiola has launched her new sofa at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan this week. The Spanish designer created Fergana, a modular sofa for Moroso upholstered in fabrics inspired by traditional patterns from Uzbekistan.

Moroso: “The Fergana collection displays the results of a careful study of textiles, which combine ancient weaving techniques from Uzbekistan with European industrial-manufacturing techniques. The collection is made up of an exceptionally comfortable, large-sized modular sofa which can become a monobloc.”

an elegant apartment in stockholm

As I love to look inside people’s houses I like browsing through real estate agent’s websites. That’s why I was happy to have found Lagerling’s website (via Purple Area). This Swedish real estate agency is known for selling exclusive, luxurious apartments and houses in Stockholm.

This stylish apartment is located in Östermalm (Stockholm). I love the fact that the apartment is very light. The round pendant lamp (Random Light) is from Dutch designer Bert Jan Pot.

Thank you for all your kind compliments on our new kitchen! I am so glad that the renovation is behind us and that I can now show you are new home! I will be posting more images in the coming weeks. Today some more kitchen inspiration. These photos, which I found on Emmas designblogg, are taken by German photographer Anne Naumann. I love the modern country feel!

By the way, the style files and Le Souk were mentioned in an article in the Financial Times this weekend. I am so excited about this! The articled is called A Blog’s life and was published the House & Home edition of the (printed) Financial Times. The article can also be read online here. The article is written by FT editor Caroline Taylor, who has her own blog Patchwork Harmony.

Can you believe that these beautiful pillows are made from outdated clothing? I found this great diy project on Design*Sponge. More salvage make-overs can be found on Sunset.

our new home: kitchen

I have been promising to show you our new home. The renovation was long and stressful (as most renovations) but we are very happy with the result. We still have to do a lot of small things, which we will do over time. Today I would like to give you a peek into our kitchen.
We have an open plan kitchen and living room with a gorgeous view on the countryside. A lot of the accessories are from my shop Le Souk. For example, that beautiful large copper teapot (from Turkey) is available here.

More images of the rest of the house will follow in the coming weeks!

outdoor inspiration

Now the renovation of our house is (almost) finished, it is time to think about the garden. This image is in my ‘outdoor inspiration file’. I love those Tolix chairs! These French café chairs were designed in 1934 by Xavier Pauchard.

painting by patricia larsen

I love everything about the interior in the image above (which I found on Design*Sponge). The Eames chairs, combined with that wooden table, and especially that painting by Canadian artist Patricia Larsen.
