marimekko’s new spring collection

Marimekko has a new collection for Spring 2009! The designers of the new collection have drawn inspiration for their fascinating, many-stranded patterns from Finland’s rich folklore, from the national epic Kalevala, and from life in a bustling city environment.

The patterns in the two images above are designed by Sanna Annukka.

This image shows the new kitchen collection. The pattern of the tablecloth is designed by Iiro A. Ahokas. “The many-faceted, striped Kimara design expresses a vibrant joy of life, fun games and play – and the shimmering sun on a midsummer’s day, when the pot of gold can be found at the end of the rainbow.”

The images above shows Marimekko’s bedclothes collection which contains patterns and colours for all tastes.

more unusual wall art

A while ago I had a post about baskets as wall art. Today another image that shows another idea to ornate your wall.

    living in a chapel

Today’s post shows a 19th century chapel situated in the quaint Flemish village of Bazel (Belgium) that has been reconverted into 2 loft-type houses. Look at those high windows, aren’t they gorgeous?

    restaurant home made in milan

Restaurant Home Made opened its doors in March 2008 and is located near the main street of the “Fuori Salone del Mobile” in Milan, Italy.
Owner Monica Bangari, together with architects Riccardo Salvi and Luca Rossire, envisioned a real home. This concept was used for designing the interior.

The food at Home Made is known to be healthy and fresh. Italian food at its best!

The restaurant also has a little garden, designed by landscape architect Carlo Callari of Milan’s ARePA studios. The chairs are from Patricia Urquiola.

    danish brand oliver furniture

While searching for a bench for our hallway I would Danish label Oliver Furniture. Their beautiful furniture pieces are produced in a high quality following the traditions of Old Nordic craftsmanship.

Every piece is made from birch wood and mdf with a durable interior lacquer.

I have my eye on a cute little bench which will look absolutely gorgeous in our hallway but I have to wait a while as isn’t really cheap. Quality has a price!

Through decor8 I found out about the work of Anna Kern. The portfolio of this Swedish photographer is truly gorgeous!

The top image is my favorite. This is such a typical Swedish interior to me!
