something green

Yesterday was about blue, today is about green! Those riads in the Marrakech medina have such beautiful courtyards…

This table lamp, designed by Lucy Renshaw, is made from recycled painted and dyed lolly sticks (price is £145.00).

something blue

The owner of this house in Marrakech must love the color blue!

colorful accents

The images are pure eye-candy! The base color is white but the (lucky!) owners of this Georgian house in the UK have added splashes of color with colorful furniture and wall decoration. I love the sofa, which I think is from Squint.

greetings from istanbul!

I am in Istanbul, Turkey, this week enjoying the beautiful things this city has to offer. I have a couple of posts lined for this week so I will not be completely gone. Will be back in full swing next week. See you then!

pillows, pillows & more pillows

The colorful pillows showed in the images of yesterday’s post got me inspired to show more pillows. I have been seeing a lot of these thick ‘mattress pillows’. These are great to create an unique and colorful (and not so expensive) sofa and/or seating area. I love the image above (from Marie Claire Maison), the vibrant pillows work really well with the white plastered walls.

More colorful pillows in this image above. The image below is from the portfolio of stylist Selina Lake.

On the coffee table there is the copper teapot I am so happy with!

It is easy to recreate the same look. IKEA has some great square cushions in their summer collection. These are quite soft and perhaps not suitable for a sofa. I myself use some heavy quality cushions that are hand-made in Morocco. These are available from Le Souk and can be ordered in other colors and sizes upon request (just send an email if you are interested).

The sofas in the image above and below are from Roche Bobois. Gorgeous but not very affordable!

The modular sofas are from their Les Voyages collection. Visit Roche Bobois’ website for more information or to find a retailer.

This website presents 50 ways to help the planet. Some of these tips are very simple but they can make a huge difference!

modern interior with ethnic influences

This interior that I spotted in a recent issue of Vogue Living Australia has a nice mix of modern furniture and ethnic accessories.

I love the Moroccan table and teapots and the colorful cushions on the sofa.

ikea’s summer collection

IKEA has a great summer collection this season! They have some gorgeous pillows in various colors, shapes and patterns. Above and below a sample from the IKEA Summer Catalogue.

Here are some of my favorite items from this year’s collection. The crocheted pillows SOMMAR (above) are only €7.99/$7.99 and are available in various colors.

Floor cushion GRENÖ (above) is available in two different patterns for €29.95/$39.99.

The GRENÖ assorted collection has various patterns and colors (€6.99/$14.99)

how about viktor from helsinki

I love the collection present by Finnish design label How About Viktor. This Helsinki based design collective presented their latest designs in Milan last week.

Members of the collective are Marko Nenonen, Helga Lahtinen, Anna Salonen, Taina Lehtinen and Yuki Abe. Their aim fo their collaboration is to create an environment where designers would be inspired to exchange and collaboratively develop ideas without boundaries while working on their daily projects as independent designers.

Check out their website for more information and to see more of their work!
