I recently saw this gorgeous staircase on Apartment Therapy. The staircase is designed by London-based Levitate Architects who came up with this ingenious solution to solve a book storage problem. Isn’t this genius?!

I don’t get it. Do you put the books that you don’t care about in the steps?
i need that stair,I was buying too much at amazon, i feel guilty free when i buy books.
I thought the same thing about damaging the books in the stairs – until I realised this photo is taken from the top of the staircase looking down, not from the bottom looking up… which makes much more sense considering that’s a door that the staircase leads to! There are more photos on the apartment therapy post at http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/at-europe/at-europe-london-closeup-the-amazing-staircase-042543
