From her studio in Amsterdam Dutch jewellery designer Marije Geursen creates beautiful jewellery which is produced in small series. My favorite design is the I Give Love necklace (top images). The pattern of this silver heart consist of Arabic geometrical patterns combined with typical Dutch cutting-art: two cultures meet each other in a single piece of jewellery. This openwork pendant is made of silver and is attached to a hematite necklace, strung on red thread. The price of this gorgeous necklace is €290. There is also a porcelain version of this heart available (second row). The price depends on the number of hearts (a necklace with 3 hearts is for example €165).
This textile brooch represents a big flower made up out of four hearts. The pattern of the ‘Give Love’ series is screen printed on textile. The pattern is enriched by an embroidery made by a studio employing mentally disabled people. These people work with great care and precission, resulting in a beautiful piece of handcraft. It comes in a black and a white version.
