Are you looking for a beautiful and unique Christmas present? Irene from Bloesem has created a gorgeous collection necklaces made from beads and semi-precious stones. Each necklace in the Pink Collection, ‘Pink’ because they all have one or more roze quartz stones, has a different design and is therefor unique.

gift ideas for home accessories (part 2)

Today some gift ideas for people who prefer more colourful home accessories! First row: Marimekko mugs ($17.50). Second row: this Peace or Love cushion makes an excellent Christmas gift (£39.50).

First row: the Art Collection is a collection of pillows decorated with the five most popular Swedish fabric designs of the 1950s (€53 for one pillow). Second row: the Panier percé by Guillaume Delvigne & Ionna Vautrin is a support to be embroidered (€136). Panier Percé is sold naked together with the embroidery kit of your choice. The kit contains coloured skeins, a needle, a needle threader and instructions for a decoration.


First row: teatowels Teacup are made in the U.K. are adorned with a sketch illustration of a stack of teacups ($18). Second row: the Teal Suzani Quilt from Urban Outfitters is a warm and comfy quilt with a suzani-style pattern at the front ($120); the Mirrored Dressing Table is finished with a reverse painting at the top and a roomy drawer at the front ($200).

I love Inke’s Wildlife Wallpaper made from vintage or designer wallpaper. My favorites are these cute little birds that are available in different color mixtures. The birds are packed per two pieces and will be shipped with adhesive and instructions (16.40 euro).

Today some gift ideas for people that are into design and home accessories. Tomorrow I will be posting part II of this gift guide but then with more colourful accessories. The last gift guide, that will be posted later this week, will be about personal accessories.

doshi levien’s mosaic range for tefal

British designer duo Doshi Levien has designed a range of cooking utensils for people interested in World cuisine. The tagine (below) and karhai (above) are part of the Mosaic range for Tefal. The project translates authentic characteristics of Asian, Moroccan and Latin American cookware into products suitable for contemporary living. The designers wanted to redefine non-stick coating as a prestigious material, moving away from its association with the short-lived and disposable. Their intention was to make the mass-produced to feel custom-made.

the style files in a chinese magazine

I am honoured to be mentioned in the latest issue of tbjhome! This is a free monthly English lifestyle and interior design magazine that is distributed together with The Beijinger, the essential monthly guide for life in Beijing, China. Writer and fellow blogger Susanne Crosetto wrote an article about creative design blogs for this magazine. carton castle

This castle is a play-house made of cardboard. It’s interior is a life-size coloring page and its white exterior can be colored and decorated as per one’s imagination. A perfect Christmas gift for kids! The ground surface is 1 square meter and the height is 134cm / 52.34″. Available for 34 euro from POAA.
