I finnaly had time this weekend to upload my pictures from Stockholm. Holly had an excellent post on Decor8 about all the fabulous shops we visited. Besides shopping, doing the usual sightseeing, going out for dinner etc, we also visited the Hem 2007 fair. Here are some photos of products and trends spotted on the fair. Swedish magazine ELLE Interiörs was present with a boot showing their favorite designs.
One of these products is this beautiful chair (images above) designed by Carl Malmsten.
There definitely was a lot of black and white on the fair. These are images (below and above) from some of the exhibitions created by Swedish stylists Jimmy Schönning and Helena Sandberg. They designed various living rooms decorated for parties (the central theme of the fair was ‘Oh, what a party!’). The second image above shows a new year party in an eldery couple’s home. The modern room is decorated with black furniture. The minimalistic, white interior (above and below) is from a single girl throwing a house warming party. The tiles are from Fotokakel . I see photo tiles being used more often and it is developing into a real trend.
But it was not only about black and white. There was a lot of colour (with an ethnic vibe) to be seen as well. The image below shows the boot of textile designer Ulrika Hedström.
Then there was also the stand of Liebling, showing colourful trays and other beautiful patterned accessories (image below).
The picture above is from “Teenage rooms” exhibition by Jan Rundgren.
The boot of Swedish interior shop Cosas showed the gorgeous work of Swedish ceramic designer Karin Eriksson.
Next week I will be visiting the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, so stay tuned for more design news!
