rorschach mirrors

What do you see? These mirrors, designed by Karel de Boer for Dutch design label HUH, have the shape of a Rorschach test. The idea behind the design is that each individual interprets the picture that is projected on the retina differently. Therefore everyone observes something else; we see what we know or see what we to think. Visit HUH’s website for more info!

  1. Those are a bit to creepy for me, but it could just be that I am listening to a slow radiohead song.

  2. Wow, I love them! It almost looks like someone tore a hole in the wall and you are peeking into another room!

  3. I love the concept of these mirrors. To me they look like birds leaving water like a duck. But then again on a second look they look different again. I suppose they will keep changing and you could different things each time you look.

  4. Spoon’s aired my association as well – they seem like unframed windows – and this is completely fine, creating a really quaint effect. There’s also an idea of using mirror as a very object – since Rorschach effect here refers to the mirrors’ shapes and forms. Generally, an interesting project – also to be developed further!
