Sirch

Although I don’t have children I can certainly appreciate well designed children’s toys and furniture. Like these gorgeous toys from Sirch! Sirch is a woodworking family from Germany with a 400-year history. The current Sirch, Wolfgang, has teamed with Christof Bitzer to design an excellent range of toys and furniture. Their design ethos stems from empathy with the elemental, with simplicity and with tradition. All Sirch products are of the highest quality and maintain a high commitment to traditional craft techniques. Their hand-built designs are so well made that it will have no problem staying in the family for years (for generations!).

The top image shows the Max push-along vehicle. Rosa Rocker horse is featured in the image below. These gorgeous toys can be purchased from Little Fashion Gallery. They are based in France but they ship their beautifully wrapped packages world-wide. Visit the Little Fashion Gallery website to see the other designs from the Sirch collection.

Garden furniture by 5.5 designers

Originality and functionality come together in this collection of garden furniture designed by 5.5 designers from France. All pieces are made from concrete. I love the contrast that has been created by the combination of this ‘cold’ material with the living plants and flowers.

Wouldn’t this bench look good in your local park? The bench & seats are available in different versions from made in design. Knowing that the furniture is made from concrete, I wonder what the shipping costs will be..

Brick carpet by Kiki van Eijk

Remember those beautiful carpets from Dutch designer Kiki van Eijk that were featured on the style files last year (it was one of my first posts!)? I received a message from Kiki that she now has a new design: a carpet made from bricks. Isn’t it gorgeous?!

New colours for Eames molded plywood chair

Via Apartment Therapy I learned that the famous molded plywood chair designed by Charles and Ray Eames is now available in various colours. Originally the classical chair, manufactured by Herman Miller, was only available in a red and a black version. Now it is possible to buy the gorgeous chair in yellow, light blue and white. Later this year the colours orange, purple, black and red will be added to the collection.

Imagine by John Lennon

Another print that I recently purchased! In my opinion Imagine by John Lennon is one of the most beautiful songs ever made. London design studio Airside has now used these famous lyrics to create this gorgeous print. The limited edition print comes in three colours of 100, all numbered and signed by the artist. The lyrics are debossed onto 270gsm art paper and comes in Pristine White, Azure Blue and Pale Grey.

Click here if you would like to purchase this print. The price is £150, not very cheap but I just had to have it!

Installation made from (old) books

The Bibliochaisse from my earlier post today reminded me of a storage system made from books that I have seen earlier this year. I had to do some searching but I found it! Books is designed by Studio Aisslinger from Germany. Books are assembled with a special designed metal connector. Use old books as the books are part of the system.

The books installation is a self-sufficient system and is basically endless. Just add more books and connectors. Use it as a room divider, art work or as shelves and let it grow. For more information you can visit Studio Aisslinger’s website.

Bibliochaise with matching stool

Last year I wrote about the Bibliochaise, an armchair-library that can store up to five meters of your favorite books. I received a lot of response on this gorgeous chair so I thought you would like to know that a matching stool, the Bibliopouf, is now available.

The chair (& stool), designed by Italian company Nobody&co, can be customized to your own preferences as it is available in different types (and colours) of wood. Also the cushions come in a range of colors and fabrics. Check out the Nobody&co website for more information and stockists.

Fun Boretti stoves

Pimp your kitchen with these fun stoves from Boretti! This Italian brand is well known for its gorgeous and functional stoves. Their Economy line is now also available in different colours and patterns. My favorite is the yellow flower pattern (top left image). Check out the Boretti website for more information.
