bag
Not that long ago I saw this bag on Dutch blog Grijs and was struck by the simple beauty of it. Bag Take a way is designed by Diane Sterverlynck from Brussels, Belgium. The bag is a copy of our well known plastic bags, made with one singel piece of leather. This soft object can be easily transformed; changing from a flat surface (2D) to a versatile carrier (3D).

carpet
Modul_le, is a flexible carpet made of felted wool balls. Each round unit is independent from the others, so that one can change the form or utility of it. These soft and free elements can be laid out on a basis of velcro or used separately like several little cushions.

Diane Steverlynck follows a specific approach centred on textile and its multiples potentialities linked to object, space and functionality. The form, the aesthetics and the story of each design rise from a continuous research around textile, materials and use. Her products always keep a “textile” identity, meaning that her work is built up around principles such as surface, structure, flexibility, scale, folding. More information can be found on Diane’s website.
