Home in Buenos Aires has won the 2007 Wallpaper Design Award in the category Best New Hotel. And for a reason, this gorgeous boutique hotel oozes style. Home, designed by architects Rodrigo Cunill and Juana Grichener, is located in Buenos Aires’ hip Palermo Viejo neighborhood. Owners Tom Rixton and his Argentine wife Patricia O’Shea felt that there was a lack of suitable accommodation in Palermo Viego. They wanted their friends and family to visit, and therefore created Home.
The hotel’s décor is a eclectic mix of old and new, mixing vintage French wallpaper, Danish furniture and wool rugs from Chili, with custom made furniture like the watambu-wood beds. Every single room is decorated with great taste. I especially love the shades of apple-green and lemon that are consistently used in all spaces.
